With barely two-weeks to go to the start of the Kombo South District Tournament, the Chief of Kombo South, Sheriff I.J. Janneh, has made some special warnings to the various participating villages.
In an exclusive interview with The Point at his Sukota residence, Chief Janneh said there have always been problems in Kombo South when it comes to the district tournament. "Many districts Organise district tournaments and they end in peace, why not Kombo South? It is high time we put a stop to trouble and persecutions in our district tournament," he said.
Talking about the solutions to the problems, Mr. Janneh called on all the Alkalo's, ward councilors, councils of elders and players to unite as one district. He further called on the organisers to bring enough security to help ensure a tournament free of violence.
"It is one of my responsibilities to foster and maintain peace and unity in my district. No activity will tamper with that and football is no exception. We will maintain peace even if it means banning the whole tournament," he concluded.
