Commonwealth General Assembly Meeting Will Kick-off November 17

The 2008 Commonwealth General Assembly meeting, to be hosted by The Gambia is expected to kick off on Monday 17 November 2008 at the Sheraton Hotel in Brufut.

Speaking to Pointsports, the deputy executive director of The Gambia National Olympic Committee and desk officer for the Commonwealth General Assembly Meeting, Mr Lawrence Bruce, said that the 2008 Commonwealth General Assembly Meeting is expected to be attended by 71 Commonwealth countries.

He stated that their guests from the Commonwealth family will start arriving in the country on November 13th, 2008 and the Commonwealth family will organise cultural activities at the airport.

He further stated that the Commonwealth General Assembly Meeting would start on 17th and run to the 21st of November 2008 at the Sheraton Hotel in Brufut in the Western Region of the Gambia. His Excellency President Jammeh will appear at the Kairaba Hotel in Senegambia on the 18th of November 2008 and they will also organise visits for delegates during their stay in The Gambia.
