placements of Magistrates in the Judicial Service with effect from the 1stOctober 2008 .
Sources reveal that Magistrate James George of the Bundung
Magistrates' Court has been moved to Banjul Magistrates' Court and Essau
magistrates' Court respectively. Magistrate Sainabou Wadda-Ceesay of the
Kanifing Magistrates' Court is to act as senior magistrate and head of Kanifing
Magistrates' Court. Senior Magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara of the Bundung
Magistrates' Court would act as principal Magistrate of the Bundung
Magistrates' Court. Magistrate Johnny Ayoub Njie of the Brikama Magistrates'
Court has been transferred to Bundung Magistrates' Court.
In a related development, acting senior Magistrate Sainabou Wadda-Ceesay of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court would chair the Kanifing Industrial Tribunal, while Magistrate Lamin George of the Banjul Magistrates' Court would chair the Banjul Industrial Tribunal.
The Kanifing Children's Court would henceforth hold its sessions at the Bundung Magistrates' Court and would continue to be chaired by Magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara, acting principal Magistrate of the Bundung Magistrates' Court. The Brikama Drugs Court would continue to be presided over by Edrissa F. Mbai, principal Magistrate at the Banjul Magistrates' Court.
