A Bakoteh lady was last week fined
D1000 for assaulting a friend.
Fatou Jah
could also go to jail for 12 months if she defaults in paying a compensation of
D2000 to her victim.
She was earlier charged at the
Bundung Magistrates' Court for slapping her friend but had denied the charge.
However, after a marathon trial, the prosecution led by Inspector L. Touray, proved the ingredients of its case beyond reasonable doubt and Fatou was, therefore, convicted and sentenced 'accordingly'.
The case was presided over by magistrate B.O. Jobe.
