Gambia Police Force Defend May Day Title

africa » gambia
Monday, May 05, 2008

The 18th edition of the May Day Sports organised by the Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC), has once more crowned Gambia Police Force (GPF) as the 2008 champions of the yearly sporting event that pits various departments and institutions against one another as part of celebrations marking Workers' Day.

The Gambia Police Force won the 17th edition of the championship last year and defended the title this year after spectacular performances during the event that was held at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

Meanwhile Standard Chartered Bank maintained their position again as the best dress company while the most disciplined team was awarded to Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA).  Yorro Badgie of Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) won the Greasy Pole contest and the Tug of War was won by Gambia Armed Forces.
