Eight Teams line up for Nooran Tourney

At least eight teams namely: Oxford United, Sofora F.C, Manchester United, Jimray F.C. Democracy, Leopards F.C., Elf United and Gikeba F.C. Lined up for Noran Tournament recently.

The tournament was organized by the AbukoYouth and Sports Committee. Mr. Abdou Rahman Bah, alias Abulay, said the purpose of the tournament was to create unity among themselves, encourage and enhance youth participation in sports and, above all, prepare for the forthcoming Nawettan Tourney. The kick off was made by Hon. Fabakary Tombang Jatta NAM for Serrekunda East.

In the opening encounter Oxford defeated Jimray 1-0, while Democracy held Elf United to a 1 all draw.  Leopard tied with Gikeba at zero a piece. Sofora squeezed Manchester United at 2-0.

Among those present were councilors for Abuko Ward Mrs. Anty Sally Sidibeh Susso and Banna Badjie councilor of Tallinding ward along with a cross section of spectators.
