last Sunday gave out break fasting meal to Muslims at the Serrekunda Mosque in
observance of the Muslims Holy month of Ramadan.
This is the third year in a row that the association is extending such gesture to Muslims during the Holy month.
Muslims around the world are currently observing Ramadan, which involves abstaining from food and water from dawn to dusk. Fasting is one of the five pillars of the Islamic religion that was prescribed by Allah and Prophet Muhammad (SAW) had placed strong emphasis to it and promised Allah’s bountiful blessings to anyone who adequately performs it.
Acting president of the Association Pa Matarr Jobe acknowledged that they are motivated by the spirit of caring and sharing that was why they provided the meal to their fasting Muslim brothers and sisters.
While thanking all those who contributed towards the provision of the meal, Jobe said the funds used to provide the meals came from the Association’s coffers. He said the Association has close to 200 members from London Corner and the surrounding settlements.
