Youth Docked For Assault

The Kanifing Magistrates' Court, presided over by Magistrate B.O Jobe recently heard a criminal case of assault causing actual bodily harm brought against one Kissima Conteh, a resident of Churchills Town.

According to the particulars of offence, on 15th September 2009, at Churchill Town, the accused Kissima Conteh used a razor blade to chop the complainant, and thereby caused him actual bodily harm.

According to the facts, the accused approached the complainant to assist him with some money which he promised to do at a later date. It was stated that two days later the accused went back to the complainant to ask for the money when the complainant told him that he had no money on him. Thereafter, the accused went back only to return with a razor blade, which he used to injure the complainant.

The accused was subsequently arrested and taken to Serekunda Police Station where a search was conducted on him and a razor blade was found in his possession.

He was later cautioned and charged with the offence committed.

The case was adjourned to19th October 2009.
