Entrepreneurship Summit –YES- last week conducted their second summit and Job
Fair at Kairaba beach hotel in Kololi.
The event brought both active and aspiring entrepreneurs, young professionals, experts, policy makers and investors on one platform to promote entrepreneurship and professional development in an inclusive environment where every young person will live to unleash their potential.
Organisers called the programme as a professional revolution that is focused on advancing an entrepreneurial ecosystem in The Gambia; a sustainable environment where start-up and small business can meaningfully contribute to the economic and social development of the country.
The theme of the second summit was, ‘Building an inclusive Gambia; challenges and opportunities for youth’
YES Gambia target to discover innovators from all over the country and to provide a platform for them to access critical mentoring and finance to grow their business.
Naffie Barry, permanent secretary at the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment said the summit is expected to boost economic activities by providing networking opportunities, knowledge sharing, career discussions and other talent development ideas.
Muhammed Danso, YES programme coordinator said the two days summit was filled with exciting and educative activities where seasoned entrepreneurs discussed pressing issues surrounding the creation of decent job for all over a roundtable will.
