Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) - Africa last Thursday paid forty-eight thousand, six hundred dalasi to Omar Sanneh as the third award winner of their new investment fund project at their office at Brikama Nyambai.
Initiator of Ever Fresh Vegetable Garden and a YEP marketing essential trainee, Mr. Sanneh’s
project proposal was approved based on his past commitment. The funding is meant for the expansion of his business.
YEP programmes officer Lamin Ceesay reminded Mr. Sanneh that the fund was given to him so that he can continue to make change in lives. “Show to us that your investment will never be a waste. If you fail, then you are usurping other young people from access such opportunities.”
Shortly after signing the funding agreement, Mr. Sanneh said young people must always try to be who they are to make changes. “I started under difficult times but that never discouraged me and today I am here.”
West Coast Region youth coordinator Musa Jarra reminded Mr. Sanneh that giving him the fund was a challenge for him to fulfill his dreams. “The platform and environment is already prepared for you. Young people are not lazy, most of them just don’t have the opportunities to change their lives and do not know how to tap them.”
