Ward councilor Bubacarr Kanteh, Sunday presided over the inauguration of a coos
milling machine at Madina Salam village in Kombo South.
The project was initiated by the village mothers’ club and bankrolled by Wonder Year Centre of Excellence (WYCE) at a tune of 150, 000 dalasis.
In his inaugural speech, councilor Kanteh said Brikama Area Council (BAC) and the central government have prioritised Madina Salam electricity and water supply constraints and would help to ensure they have access to these essential human needs, assuring them that they will get electricity and water soon.
Councilor Kanteh advised the people of Madina Salam to be law abiding and not to take the law into their own hands. He also advised the youth not to involve themselves in writing negative comments on the social media.
Mr. Kanteh further applauded WYCE for complementing government efforts in national development.
Country director of Wonder Year Centre of Excellence Lamin Kijera said WYCE has brought many development projects to Madina Salam since its inception in 2001 and has supported all the Kafoos in the village.
Village Development Committee (VDC) chairman Basirou Saidy said WYCE have been supportive to the people of Madina Salam since its inception 2001 in the areas of education, health and empowerment.
He revealed that WYCE also rendered support to Kartong, Berending and Kajabang over the years, while commending them for their laudable support and urged the beneficiaries to take care of the new mailing machine.
President of Madina Salam mothers’ club Aja Binta Touray and Sarjo Darboe, vice principal of WYCE Basic Cycle School both lauded WYCE for supporting them. Alkalo Sissawo Touray thanked WYCE for the support.
