women national team has defeated Gambia’s Queen Scorpions 2-1 in a friendly
match played in Rabat.
The international friendly was part of the Queen Scorpions’ preparation ahead of Burkina Faso clash.
The Gambia female national team left Banjul for Rabat on Sunday transiting via Senegal but was a 2-1 loser to the home side. Coach Boom Sowe and her technical staff will now have to improve on the Rabat defeat to prepare well for Burkina Faso.
Meanwhile, the Queen Scorpions will travel to Ouagadougou- Burkina Faso today where they will face their fellow West Africans Burkina national female team in the first leg of the crucial 2019 African women cup of nations qualifier in Ghana. They will battle for a win away to Burkina Faso this Saturday.
The team captain Penda Bah alias Crouch said the girls are fully prepared for the game and are working hard and making some fun around while waiting for the game.
In a telephone conversation with the reporter, Miss Bah said with their parents’ prayers and those of the entire Gambian population both home and abroad, they would surely make it.
