Kadijatou Touray, a woman in her 60s has been found dead in the outskirts of
Sarreh Tanko village, in Jarra West District of the Lower River Region (LRR),
The Point can authoritatively report.
The circumstances leading to her death could not be established at the time of going to the press. Meanwhile, questions continued to swirl over whether she was killed or not.
Our sources in LRR stated that the late Kadijatou went to the bush for an errand. “The woman could not return home which promoted the villagers to search for her. Her body was later recovered as she was found dead and covered with her wrapper,” our sources noted.
The body of the deceased has been taken to Banjul for postmortem examination as securities in the region believed that there could be a foul play in the circumstances leading to her death.
Efforts made to reach the assistant public relations officer of the Gambia Police Force, Superintendent Foday Conta proved futile.
