A prosecution witness, Ebrima Touray, recently testified in the trial of one Ousainou Jammeh, accused of attempted rape, before Magistrate Jagne of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court.

Touray told the court that he works as a mechanic and recognized the accused person.

He recalled that on 19 September 2014, he and his friend were from Kololi going to Kotu and the compound they were going to has two gates and an incomplete building.

According to Touray, when he pushed the gate, he saw a child running away and got hold of her and asked her what happened.

They then saw the accused putting on his trouser, he said.

They called the accused and asked him what he was doing, but he said he did not do anything.

The accused was arrested and taken to Kotu Police Station, Touray said.

Hearing continues.
