What is next for Gambian football after Confederation of African Football (CAF) dismissed the country’s protest against Togo?

The Gambia claimed Togo fielded an ineligible player in their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Gambia Football Federation (GFF) protested against the Togo for fielding Adewale Loufade during the continent’s bi-annual biggest football fiesta qualifier match against the Scorpions played on Friday 12 October 2018 in Lome.

The continent’s football governing body CAF dismissed The Gambia’s protest against the Togolese team for fielding ineligible player Loufade.

CAF decision to turn down Gambia’s protest against the Hawks dashed the country’s hopes of qualifying for their debut Africa Cup of Nations after bagging only 5 points in five matches with one more to go.

The Scorpions must thrash Algeria in their final crunch qualifier match in March this year in Algiers and hope Benin slip at home to Togo in Cotonou to make their first-ever appearance in the continent’s biggest football jamboree.
