West Coast Regional 3rd Tier 1st round winds up

The West Coast Regional third division league first round finally wrapped up with fascinating and exciting encounters at the weekend.

League leaders Gunjur United were held to a goalless draw by second placed Brufut United at the Gunjur Nyamina football field on Saturday.

Nema United beat Kombo Kerewan 1-0 in an all-Kombo North derby game played at the Dembadou mini stadium in Sukuta.

Elsewhere, M.L. Dertusa beat Foni Berefet United by the same score line at the Bulock football field on the same day.

Nema United thumped Brikama 2-0 at the Dembadou mini stadium in Sukuta on Sunday.

Sifoe United lost to Busumbala by the same score line at the Busumbala football field to bounce back in the league, after losing to Gunjur United 2-1 in their previous fixtures.

Elsewhere, the reigning league champions Jambanjelly United drew 1-1 with Sanchaba Sulay Jobe Football Academy at the Jambanjelly football field on the same day.

Gunjur United are currently leading the league table with 23 points in eleven games, followed by Brufut United with 22 points in eleven games; Busumbala are 3rd with 19 points in eleven games, and Sifoe United on 4th place with 18 points in eleven games.

Jambanjelly United are in fifth place with 17 points in eleven games, Brikama are in sixth place with 14 points in eleven games and Foni Berefet United are in seventh place with 12 points in eleven games.

Nema United and Nema Youths occupy eighth and ninth places with 11 points each in eleven outings, while Kombo Kerewan are in 10th place with 10 points in eleven games.

Sanchaba Sulay Jobe Football Academy are in second place from bottom with 10 points in eleven games, while M.L. Dertusa are rooted at the bottom with 8 points in eleven games.
