Abdoulie Bai Cham, the President of the National Scorpions Fan Club has expressed their desire to continue supporting the U-17 team, despite their failure to make an impact in the FIFA U-17 World Cup currently in session in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Cham was however quick to add that all hands should be on deck to make sure that the boys are given all the necessary support to live up to expectations. He expressed the fan club's willingness to support the Baby Scorpions at all times.

The ultimate objective of the Scorpions Fan Club, according to Bai Cham, is to give support to all the national teams in their quest to achieve the desired results in their various international competitions.

According to him, they will not relent in their efforts to continue contributing their quota towards the promotion and development of sports in the country, which U-17 is no exception.

Bai Cham as he is affectionately called went further to compliment the effort of the Gambia Football Association and the government, adding "I would like to compliment the efforts of the government of the Republic of the Gambia and the GFA, on behalf of the entire National Scorpions Fan Club for the important role the later continue to render towards the development of sports in the country and football, in particular which has witnessed a tremendous success and significant improvement over the past few years."

Mr. Cham was speaking to Pointsport at his residence in Bakau New Town on Monday.

Bai Cham also revealed that the reason why the fan club were not present at the Airport to welcome the Baby Scorpions after returning home from Nigeria where they took part in the FIFA U-17 World Cup was due to the information they received regarding the team?s arrival.

"Our intention was to give the boys massive welcoming ceremony, despite the fact that they did not live up to expectations but we were only informed by the Accountant of the GFA, Kemo Ceesay that the boys will arrive today which was so prompt for us to mobilise and prepare for the arrival of the U-17 team," the fan club supremo concluded.
