Wallidan socks Hawks in Domestic league

Wallidan, Monday thrashed Hawks 3-0 in week twenty-one fixture of the 2018-2019 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) domestic division one league played at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium.

The blue boys slipped to Marimoo 3-1 before rubbing horns with the Red Devils, who hammered PSV Wellingara 4-1. Both sides needed a victory to close gap on clubs above them in the league and to keep their league title aspirations alive.

Baboucarr Jallow gave Wallidan the lead in the 26th minute of the match from an excellent strike before netting the second goal in the 33rd minute from an astonishing finish to complete his brace.

The blue boys went to the break with a comfortable 2-0 lead and upon resumption of the match, Wallidan piled pressure on Hawks, creating numerous goal scoring opportunities.

Their efforts paid dividend in the 70th minute of the match when midfielder Modou Lamin Sawo scored the third goal to seal victory for the blue boys. Hawks reacted for an equaliser but to no avail.

They now bag 31 points after twenty-one league matches and Hawks with 30 points in twenty-one league games.
