Wallidan captain hails team mates

africa » gambia
Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Following his side's 2-0 thrashing over the defending champions Armed Forces in the Week Ten fixtures of the 2009-10 Gambia Football Association (GFA) First Division League Championship, the captain of Wallidan, George Cole, who played a key role in the win commended his teammates for their determination, hard work and commitment as they comfortably beat Armed Forces to climb to 4th position in the 12 club championship table.

The former Gambia U-20 star midfielder said that his side could have scored more goals in the first half, but could only managed to score two clinical goals.

He however expressed optimism that Wallidan can still clinch the title by winning many games ahead. He also remained confident that his team will beat Bakau United in the Week Eleven fixtures when the two sides face each other at the Independence Stadium on Sunday.

He used the opportunity to thank the fans for cheering the team during the game, urging them to continue giving support to the players at all times.

"We will surely make them proud," he concluded.
