WAFU synergy in Zone A tourney

West Africa Football Union (WAFU) has added a new impetus to its forth coming WAFU Zone A football tournament to be held in Senegal later in September 2018.

The body said it will hold a day seminar for head coaches of the participating countries to help them with modes, techniques and matters that are needful to their domain during the tournament and by extension the 2019 Total Africa U-17 tournament to be hosted in Tanzania.

The seminar will be held in Dakar on 13 September when matches would have gone half way into the tournament.

The Baby Scorpion’s head coach Abdoulie Bojang will represent the Gambia.

The WAFU Zone A football tournament is now set to kick-off from 9 to 18 September, 2018 in the cities of Dakar and Mbour respectively.

Eight countries namely: The Gambia, Guinea Conakry, Mauritania, Liberia, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau and hosts Senegal will compete during the ten day football tournament.

CAF says the Zonal football tournament would be used as qualifiers for the 2019 Total Africa U-17 tournament in Tanzania.
