The Secretary General of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone A, Jammeh E.K. Bojang, has urged all participating countries for the upcoming WAFU U-17 football tournament to conduct MRI tests for their players before the Sub-regional football tournament begins in Senegal next month.

The WAFU Secretary General was speaking in an Interview with the assistant Secretary General of the Sport Journalists Association of the Gambia, Modou Bah shortly after the WAFU Zone A football tournament draw held in Dakar on Monday.

SG Bojang added that all the participating teams would undergo an MRI test when they arrive in Senegal before the tournament begins on September 9.

Jammeh E.K. Bojang indicated that any nation that has their players disqualified during the MRI test would not get a chance to replace those players.

He said if a nation brings a team of 18 players and seven of them fail the MRI, the team will be in trouble because they will not be given the chance to replace those players.

Bojang revealed that all the participating countries will arrive in Senegal between the 4 and 8 September, adding that screening and MRI test will be carried out for players.

He said that they are looking forward to witnessing an entertaining and cheerful WAFU U-17 youth championship.
