Gambia’s vice president Ousainou Darboe was among the high-profile dignitaries that graced the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers between The Gambia and Algeria at the Independence Stadium in Bakau, Saturday evening.

Darboe joined several dignitaries and football enthusiasts to watch the Scorpions in action against the Desert Foxes in the continent’s biggest football fray qualifiers.

Mr. Darboe was impressed with the performance of the Scorpions despite their 1-1 draw with Algeria, who assembled a formidable squad for the crunch clash.

The Gambia now need to win their remaining four group matches in the qualifiers to improve their chances of qualifying for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted by Cameroon.
