The Food Safety and Quality Authority (FSQA)
will at the end of March 2019 shut down all water factories and companies that
have not registered with FSQA Act 2011.
According to the Authority, the proliferation of unregistered water companies/factories is a cause of concern to the Food Safety and Quality Authority as most of these companies/factories do not operate in accordance with provisions of Food Safety and Quality Act 2011.
“In light of the foregoing, the Authority requested that all water companies/factories should register with the Food Safety and Quality Authority with immediate effect.”
“After registration, an inspection will be carried out by FSQA to ascertain whether the company/factory and its products have met the requirements of the Food Safety and Quality Act 2011.” The released noted.
The release further said that, the cooperation of all water cup companies/factories is solicited in the interest of consumer health and safety.
