solar experts are currently in the country to meet with stakeholders to discuss
investment prospects in The Gambia energy sector as well as to make it more
available to every Gambian.
Briefing the journalists recently at the Mac Caesars Restaurant, the managing director of Rasda Energy Company, Shiekh Tijan Ndoye, said the purpose of the experts’ visit to The Gambia was to invest in The Gambia energy sector.
Mr Ndoye said their decision to invest in The Gambia energy sector started from a discussion he had with S4N directors, Peter Mark and Ashiley Seager.
He told journalists that S4N solar company, which has 22 megawatts, has all the needed capacity to contribute immensely in the country’s energy sector.
He said Rasda Energy and S4N Africa have signed a memorandum of understanding to implement a project that would have a capacity of 100 megawatts.
According to him, all what was keeping that at bay at the moment was their discussion with Nawec, Ministry of Energy and Petroleum.
S4N Africa is a London based solar company and is in partnership with energy 4 Gambia.
