UK medical supply arrives at Essau District Hospital

Citizens of the North Bank Region’s community of Essau in the United Kingdom (UK) Wednesday donated medical items to Essau District Hospital.

The donated items included packets of cotton absorbents, colecalaterol granulated effervescent, enalorpril, amoxicillin, metformin, fluimucil, enalapril, amaryl, tardyferon, azitromicina and gliclazida mylan among others.

Speaking at the presentation, public relations officer of Essau Village Development Committee Modou Lamin Sonko thanked the Essau residents in UK for the donation and assured of his committee’s readiness to stand for the development of the community.

Receiving the items, the hospital’s senior midwife Mam Badjie said the gesture was much appreciated, saying the demand for drugs is always higher than the supply.

Dr. Ebrima Mbowe, a medical officer at the hospital thanked the donors for the generosity, saying medicines are very expensive.

Ousman Sarjo, regional principal nursing officer said they are happy that the community is contributing its quota to the development of the hospital.

 He highlighted that they want Essau District Hospital to be one of the best health facilities in the country.
