The executive principal of Hamstead Hall Academy Trust in Birmingham, the UK, has expressed the charity’s commitment to continually supporting education in The Gambia as “it is the future”.

Ken Morris said it has been inspirational for the organisation to support the Gambian education sector for the past 8 years.

The charity recently built a nursery school for the community of Abuko at James Junkung Jammeh Memorial Lower Basic School.

Speaking to journalists at the new nursery school ground on Wednesday, Mr Morris said a good nursery school education gives children strong foundation and prepares them for lower basic and beyond.

He expressed their willingness to continue investing in the school as the partnership between the charity and the school as well as the community of Abuko and all other relevant stakeholders continues to go from strength to strength.

Mr Morris said he was in The Gambia to see the impact of the charity’s support on young people and on the future of the community, the country and the world at large.

He was visiting the school for the first time even though his organisation has been providing support to the school for the past 8 years.
