Two arraigned for alleged burglary

Haggie Simaha and Sheikh Drammeh were recently arraigned before Magistrate Gomez of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with three counts of conspiracy to commit a felony, burglary and stealing.

They denied the charges and were each granted court bail of D75,000 with a Gambian surety each who must deposit an ID card.

The charge sheet in count one stated that on 24 January 2015, at Bakau New-Town in the Kanifing Municipality, they conspired to steal.

Count two stated that they broke and entered into the dwelling house of one Ms Ida Kandji.

Count three stated that they stole a black laptop valued at 599 pounds, digital camera valued at D6,500, a gas bottle valued at D1,400 and a data card with value unknown, the properties of the said Ms Kandji, Momodou Bah and Ms Isatou Ceesay.

Hearing was adjourned till 2 March 2015.
