Turo Darboe commences Ramadan generosity

The Chief Executive Officer of Vision Development Foundation (VDF), Modou Turo Darboe, has commenced his Ramadan generosity by presenting Ramadan gifts to Muslims and non Muslims in the Gambia at his office in Churchill Town on a daily basis.

The presentation of these gifts to hundreds of Muslims in need was part of his annual activities which was gear toward helping the most vulnerable people to have daily meal during the holy month of Ramadan.

This was an annual activities by the VDF founder during the holy month of Ramandan by presenting gifts on a daily basis ranging from sugar, to rice, oil, physical cash, onion, potatoes, and other items, as it a month of love, caring and sharing among Muslims.

Speaking to this reporter, one Binta Fatty, who converged at his office in Churchill Town to receive gift for breaking their fast, commended Turo Darboe for his love for humanity, saying that daily feeding was a major problem for her, as she has four children and had lost her husband.

She said that since the Ramadan started, every day she would receive some gifts from Mr Darboe to sustain her family feeding.

She said the intervention by Turo Darboe in providing these gifts to Muslims during this month was a big relief on her without which she would have found it very difficult to maintain her daily survival, particularly in this holy month.

Also speaking, one Sally Keita, a resident of Tallinding, spoke at length about the difficulty she faces in this month of Ramadan in terms of daily feeding sustainability.

She said the daily intervention in providing Ramadan gifts was a welcome move as the Almighty Allah appreciates it.

She said the month was a sharing and caring month which means the rich should help the most vulnerable one to have their daily meal.

One Halimatou Jallow, who was also a beneficiary of the daily Ramadan gifts, also expressed total appreciation about the gifts she had been receiving from Turo Darboe.

She noted that without his daily intervention, she would have suffered a lot to feed her family as she was not working and has some family dependents.

She thanked Mr Darboe for his generosity, especially in this holy month of Ramadan, in helping the needy, saying the Almighty Allah would reward him for his deed.

The VDF founder, Mr Turo Darboe said he was emulating his father’s gesture in serving humanity, especially in the holy month of Ramadan, which is a caring and sharing month for every Muslim.
