Turkish airlines to begin direct flights to Banjul

The Turkish ambassador to The Gambia Ismail Sefa Yuceer says the famous Turkish airlines will start to operate direct flights from the Turkish capital Istanbul to Banjul.

The ambassador made this revelation on Friday in a handing over ceremony of 20 buses from the Turkish government to The Gambia at McCarthy Square in Banjul

“At this particular moment, I would like to announce another good news that the Turkish airlines have decided to operate twice a week direct flights from Istanbul to Banjul which is scheduled to start on the 26 November, 2018.”

He stressed the importance of this new development.

“I strongly believe that the direct flights will not only increase people to people interaction and business relationship between the Turkey and The Gambia but also further connect The Gambia through the hub of Istanbul with the rest of the world.”

Ambassador Yuceer said The Gambia’s diplomatic relations with outside world is promising.

“The recent developments with regard to The Gambia, either bilateral or multilateral level, are very promising and encouraging for the future of the country.”

He said the clear manifestations of these are the outcome of the International Donor Conference on The Gambia and the Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC)’s Islamic meeting to be hosted by The Gambia next year.
