Distinguished Ladies and gentleman, we are gathered here today to witness the presentation of items worth over D100,000.00 to Basse District Hospital by Trust Bank Ltd. The items include medical supplies and other consumables as requested for by the Hospital management.

Let me begin by thanking the Officer-In-Charge of Basse District Hospital Mr. Mamat Samba and the Regional Director-Mr. Lamin Ceesay for making this day a success.

I would also like to thank the entire staff of the hospital and the people of Basse for the warm welcome accorded to me and my team.

The partnership between Trust Bank Ltd and Basse District Hospital started several years back and I am immensely proud that Trust Bank LTD has been able to make a difference in the quality of health care service delivery for the people of Basse and its environ.

The presentation today will not only include medical supplies, but the love and generosity of the Trust Bank family to the people of Upper River Region. The generosity of the Trust Bank family reveals a Bank that has embedded a commitment to the creation of shared values at the heart of what binds us together.

Distinguished Ladies and gentleman, please allow me to remind ourselves that the presentation today, is a continuation of the work that Trust Bank has been doing for this hospital for the good of the people of Upper River Region.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this event today coincides with the 22nd anniversary of the incorporation of Trust Bank LTD. By way of background, Trust Bank was incorporated in July 1997 to take over the business of Meridien Biao Bank and began operations in October the same year.

In that light, we are immensely proud to celebrate our 22nd anniversary with patients and staff here whilst we also acknowledge, through this donation, the role that Basse District Hospital plays in the lives of many Gambians and non-Gambians in this region.

As a proudly Gambian Bank with a Corporate Social Responsibility program grounded on the principles of sharing and caring, we believe this donation is a great way to give back to our communities. We are also aware, and appreciate that our customers from all corners of the Gambia, and even ourselves as employees of Trust Bank together with our family members directly or indirectly benefit from the services offered by Basse Hospital, thus indirectly supporting us and our business.

Ladies and gentlemen this donation we are about to present today is another example of our firm commitment to continue to support government’s efforts through the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare in improving the standard of health care delivery in the Country.

Those are the principles that Trust Bank stands for and we enjoin all the stakeholders to embrace them through collaborative efforts with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.  That is fundamental in our national drive to achieve quality health care delivery as envisaged in the “new Gambia.”

As the Managing Director of Trust Bank LTD, I look forward to continuing this relationship and to visit the hospital again.

Finally I would like to take this opportunity to convey to the Ministry of Health & Social Welfare and the Board, Management and staff of Basse District Hospital, our profound sense of appreciation and also reiterate our firm commitment to further strengthen our partnership for the benefit of the people of Upper River Region.

On behalf of the Board, Management and Staff of Trust Bank Ltd, I have the honor to hand over these items to the Management of Basse District Hospital.

THANK YOU ALL AND MAY ALLAH SWT BLESS US, AMEEN.
