Trio arraigned in court

Cosmos Ohams, Emmanuel Obi and Alhagie Manneh were recently arraigned before Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbacke of the Kanifing Magistates' Court, charged with conspiracy to defraud and attempt to commit an offence. All pleaded not guilty.

Testifying before the court, the 3rd accused person, Alhagie Manneh told the court that he received a telephone call from the 2nd accused Emmanuel Obi, to meet him at West Field to collect a key to a particular store.

According to him, upon his arrival he was arrested by the police and taken to Kairaba Police Station.

He adduced that at the station the 2nd accused gave him D2, 500 for safe-keeping and later taken to Banjul Police Station.

The case was subsequently adjourned to 23rd February 2010.
