Senior officials of his ministry, the Gambia Tourism Board and other tourism stakeholder institutions within the tourism industry accompanied Minister Bah.

Speaking to journalists at African Princess Beach Hotel, Minister Bah said the tour is part of his ministry’s policies to visit the facilities under his ministry.

According to him, his ministry will always strive to maintain standards in tourism, calling on people to do what is right and to stay in the right places. “We want standard hotels because the beaches are very expensive for Gambians. They should be properly utilized and we must make sure that people who have the money are given the opportunity to invest. We will not accept people occupying lands that they cannot develop.”

Adama Njie, director of marketing at The Gambia Tourism Board said one has to get the right facilities in tourism, saying minister Bah has taken the right step which shows that future of tourism in The Gambia is guaranteed.
