Tourism minister tours hotels at TDA

Hamat Bah, minister of Tourism and Culture on Wednesday accompanied by a delegation from his ministry and other tourism stakeholders visited some hotels within the Tourism Development Area (TDA).

Speaking at the Kombo Beach Hotel, Hamat Bah said he was very impressed about what he has seen in the hotels, adding that hotel owners should continue the ‘excellent work.’

The Tourism minister therefore tasked hotels owners to always introduce quality service delivery, which he noted, attracts more tourists to the country.

“We have been going around to some of the hotels to see the development and the preparedness of the owners towards the tourist season which we have started since three weeks ago,” he told the press.

Shortly after the visit, the Tourism Ministry convened a press conference to shed light on the signing of an MoU between The Gambia and Saudi Arabia which is designed to promote tourism and create job opportunities for our Gambian youths.

Bah said the process of the signing of the MoU has been already finalised and the two countries will soon sign the MoU.

He said in the MoU, the media is highly featured because “we believe that we cannot succeed without the cooperation of the media,” adding that the Saudi government floated over five billion dollars to develop tourism.
