Toubakolong beats Aljamdu Utd in Toubakolong Nawettan opener

Toubakolong United last Saturday defeated Aljamdu United by 1-0 in the opening game of the Toubakolong Nawettan, played at the Toubakolong football field.

Alieu Jawo alias Chris’s second half strike was enough to earn Toubakolong the vital three points in the opening of the annual tournament.

Toubakolong football zone committee (ToFZoC) started the 2019 naweetam season with a three- day capacity building training course for coaches and referees across Upper Niumi District from 16 to 18 August. The training was a collective effort by ToFZoC, North Bank Regional Football Association, Referees Association NBR and Upper Niumi District Sports Committee.

The committee thanked the training instructors Bubacarr Boris Demba, coach educator NBR Alhagie Jammeh, Coach of the GFF/FIFA Referees Omar Darboe, Mustapha Bojang, Alfusain Sonko alias Koto the chairman NBR referees Association and Ousainou Jallow, Chairman Upper Niumi District Sports Committee.

 There were 23 participants for referees and 12 participants for coaches from 16 communities in Upper Niumi District who were awarded certificates at the end of the training.

Meanwhile, league matches will resume on Saturday 2 August when Elements of Surprise will take on Sanchaba United while Sunday 25 August, Lions of Albreda will lock horns with new comers Naimbelly United.
