United striker, Muhammed Samba, who is the leading goal scorer of this year’s
GFF Division One league has set his target playing at the highest level as well
as representing The Gambia at international level.
The striker revealed this in an interview with The Point after been confirmed as the GFF 2018/2019 Division One League top scorer after scoring 10 goals this season.
Samba further expressed delight for winning the country’s league leading goal scorer, adding that ahead of this season, Banjul United set themselves a target of winning something and fortunately he topped the goal scoring list.
Banjul United finished this season eleventh position with 26 points in 26 games of the 14-team league competition. But the former Makkan Bi FC prodigy noted that despite their difficult season they managed to save the team from relegating.
According to the goal poacher who broke a record after scoring 21 goals for Banjul United and also winning the leading goal scorer in 2014/2015 season, he will continue making headlines and scoring goals for his club.
“I aim to score more goals in the league even without been selected into the national team. This will always help me to do more as I have people who advise me regarding my goal scoring form,” he said.
Samba scored 61 goals for Banjul United in five seasons between 2014 to 2019 in both the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Division League One and Two.
