Top flight promotion race set to continue today

Promotion to the Gambia Football Federation domestic division league next season race is set to continue in the second tier today, Friday 27 May 2016, across three venues in the Greater Banjul Area.

Marimoo, Tallinding United and Brufut United are the three teams competing for promotion to the top flight next season following their excellent display in the second tier campaign.

Immigration, BK Milan, Serrekunda East Bi and Young Africans are battling for survival in the second tier next season after their dismal performance in the second division campaign.

Marimoo will host Red Hawks at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium.  Marimoo are currently topping the second tier, and will target to pound Red Hawks to extend their lead in the summit and keep their chances of gaining promotion to top flight.

Red Hawks are safe in the second tier, and will be playing pride after their stunning performance in their debut in the second tier.

Brufut United will meet Bakau United at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai. Brufut United are third in the second tier two points behind league leaders Marimoo and one point behind second-place Tallinding United.

Brufut United will be hunting to snatch the vital three points against Bakau United and hope Marimoo and Tallinding United slip against Red Hawks and BK Milan get to top the second tier.

Elsewhere, Blue Star will welcome PSV Wellingara in the all-Wellingara derby game at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on the same day.

The Wellingara duo are already safe in the second tier, and will be playing for formality.
