Three-day Volleyball Competition Ends

A three-day volleyball competition organised by OlympAfrica Centre has concluded at the Serrekunda East playing ground on Sunday 10th May 2009.

The competition was competed by six teams namely: Zigunchor produce two teams both male and female, Bignona male team, Serrekunda East have two male teams and one female team respectively.

On Saturday 9th May Ziguinchor defeated Serrekunda East B by 3 points to nil in the male category. On the same day Ziguinchor also defeated Serrekunda East in the female by 3 points to 1 and in the last game of that same day Bignona drew 1-1 with Serrekunda East A in the male category, but the game was not completed due to lighting problem.

On Sunday Bignona and Ziguinchor made a joined team and played against Serrekunda East, which Bignona and Ziguinchor won by 3 points to 2 in the male category. In the last game of the competition Ziguinchor defeated Serrekunda East again by 3 points to nil in the female category.

All the participants including the sports journalists were awarded certificates at the end of the ceremony.

The female team from Ziguinchor received a trophy for being the champions while Serrekunda East male team also received a trophy for participating.
