Cook Northern Europe AB Wednesday donated hospital equipment to the Ministry of
Health and Social Welfare for onward distribution to various public hospitals
in the country.
Dodou Jobe on behalf of Thomas Cook Northern Europe AB presented the equipment to health Minter Saffie Lowe-Ceesay. The equipment included scanning machines, operating beds, wheelchairs, fridges, bicycles, walking sticks, and chairs among others.
In receiving the equipment, Minister Lowe-Ceesay said the donation came at a time when her ministry needed them most.
She assured that the beneficiaries will ensure the properly maintenance of the equipment. “We hope this is the beginning of a bigger collaboration with you in time to come,” she said.
Minister Lowe-Ceesay thanked Thomas Cook Northern Europe AB through Mr. Jobe for the gesture.
In addition to supporting the Minister of Health Mr Jobe also donated cloths to various communities across the country.
Mr Jobe expressed appreciation to the staff of Thomas Cook for donating washing machines to Banjul and Kanifing mortuaries.
Mr. Jobe also thanked Marianne Valassi for her coordination; Sofia Walin and Rikard Melaner for their participation.
