Mbalax star Thione Secka and Gambia’s King of Kora Jaliba Kuyateh are expected
to appear at the Independence Stadium today in their first combine stage
performance for this year.
The musical concert is organized by Mabou Foundation, in collaboration with Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH). Proceeds from the fund raiser will be used to support the country’s major teaching hospital.
Speaking to the Point Entertainment and Lifestyle at Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital, Mabou Tourary, a music promoter and the lead behind the event said the purpose of organizing the fund raising is to support the hospital.
“We are organizing this fund raiser to help the hospital because the situation of the hospital requires attention. We will also organise a gala dinner that is going to be at the Independence Stadium where we would have Thione Secka and Jaliba Kuyateh perform.”
Mr. Touray said whatever fund they generate from the fund raising will be going to the hospital, saying the foundation’s target areas are health, education and environment.
Kabu Silver, a senior administrator at EFSTH said the fund raiser is a wise idea which everyone should appreciate; saying when it comes to health, EFSTH is the biggest and the only referral hospital in the country.
