Jallow, the spokesperson of Team Malick N.K. Sillah, has confirmed that they
have filed an injunction at the High Court in Banjul to bar The Gambia Football
Federation election slated for August 18th 2018.
“We have a file a law suit against the GFF electoral body with a view to block the election from taking place. Therefore, I cannot comment further on the matter as it involved some legal matters. But I can tell you that the matter is before the court and is slated for today.”
Source that spoke to our reporter on condition of anonymity said the case will be presided over by Justice N.A. Ceesay Wadda at the High Court in Banjul. Our source further added that the GFF Electoral Chairman Dodou CapiJoof has also been summoned.
It could be recalled that there has been a dramatic development in the election process of the Gambia Football Federation with the electoral committee rejecting 5 of the nominations from the opposition Malick Sillah’s camp.
Among those whose nominations were rejected include the number 2 and 3 aspirants of the Sillah camp, Star Njie and Kabba Ceesay, respectively.
The Sillah Camp’s woman representative Mariama Jobarteh and executive member Essa Jallow also had their nominations rejected.
Only Presidential candidate Malick Sillah, 3rd vice President Foday Danjo has had their nominations accepted.
