for The Gambia national women team against Guinea Bissau in an international
friendly played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Tuesday night.
The visitors dominated the opening minutes of the game and opened the scores through Adama Mane in 19th minutes, after capitalising on Gambia’s defensive blunder to give her side the lead.
The host reacted quickly for an equaliser and leveled the scores through prolific striker Adama Tamba from the penalty spot after defender Celesta Armando brought her down inside eighteen to make it 1-1.
Speaking to reporters shortly after the game, head coach of The Gambia women team, Mariama Bom Sowe applauded her players for their remarkable performance, adding that they were not lucky to win the match.
Assistant coach of Guinea Bissau Dulce Imes Bieu Gaices praised the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) for organising the friendly match, saying the match will help both countries in their future assignments.
