Symposium on Women Football set for today

The  first-ever Symposium on women football in The Gambia is slated for today, Wednesday 25 October 2017, at the Friendship Hotel at the Independence Stadium in Bakau at 2pm to 5pm.

The first-ever symposium on Women football in the country is being organised by the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) in conjunction with Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC),is meant to create public awareness and spread message that women football is accepted in the society.

The Symposium is also organised to inform the Gambian public that football is not only a men sport but it is meant for the girls to play the beautiful game.

The symposium means to enlighten the Gambian public that football is a school of life, it develops self-confidence and self-esteem.

Football also emancipates and strengthens the role of women in the society and also teaches social values, encourages togetherness and develops player’s leadership skills and personality.
