Superior Courts’ summer recess starts today

Judges of the Superior Courts of The Gambia will today August 1, 2018, commence the summer vacation which is expected to end on September 30, 2018. This being so, the next Legal term would commence on October 1, 2018.

According to judicial sources and in pursuant to Order 4, Rules 1 and 3 of the Courts Act, Cap 6:01,Volume 2, laws of The Gambia. The Superior Courts’ summer recess begins today and Justice Sainabou Wadda Cisse of the High Court in Banjul will be the vacation judge from August 1 to August 14, 2018.

Whilst Justice Buba Jawo of the High Court will be the vacation judge from August 15, to September 14, 2018,  Justice Ebrima Jaiteh of the High Court in Banjul will take over as the vacation judge from September 15, 2018, to September 30, 2018.

Furthermore, Justice Zainabou Jawara-Alami of the High Court in Banjul will be the vacation judge for the Christmas vacation 2018.

The vacation judges shall be dealing with matters of urgency in civil and criminal matters such as bail applications, ex-parte motions, miscellaneous applications amongst others.
