Super Nawettan quarter final race set for today

The 2017 Fibank Gambia Limited-sponsored Super Nawettan quarterfinal matches are set for today, Tuesday 24 October 2017.

As part of the quarterfinal matches, champions Gunjur will rub shoulders with debutants Kombo East, at the Brikama Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.

The champions finished top in group A with 7 points in three games, after their goalless draw with Bakau before thrashing Serrekunda Central 3-0 and Lamin 1-0.

Gunjur will contest to beat Kombo East to progress to the semifinal.

Debutants Kombo East finished runners-up in group C with 2 points in three matches, following their 1-1 draw with Serrekunda East before their goalless draw against Brufut.

Kombo East will eye to kick Gunjur out and advance to the semifinal in their debut appearance in the Super Nawettan.

Serrekunda East will clash with Bakau, at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda on the same day.

Serrekunda East finished first position in group C with 4 points in two games, after their 1-1 draw with debutants Kombo East before their 1-0 win over Brufut, and will target victory over Bakau to sail to the semifinal.

Bakau finished second place in group A with 7 points in three matches, following their goalless draw with the champions Gunjur before defeating Lamin and Serrekunda Central 1-0 each.

Bakau will brawl to defeat Serrekunda East to progress to the semifinal.

On Wednesday 25 October 2017, last year’s runners-up Banjul will play against Sukuta, at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.

Elsewhere, BEM will meet Brikama in the other quarterfinal clash, at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda on the same day.
