2018 Super ‘Nawetan’ tournament will kick off on 26 October, according to
organisers of the country’s most fancy community football festivity.
This year’s Zonals will bring together sixteen recognised zones for the first time after the inclusion of Sanyang, Lower River Region and Farato, Busumbala and Yundum combination.
Current champions Sukuta will be aiming to defend their crown after claiming last year’s Super Nawettan title following their penalty shootout victory over Barra, Essau and Mayamba (BEM) in the final.
The Dembadou boys will face stiff competition from heavy-weights Banjul, Serrekunda East, West, Brikama and Gunjur for this year’s title.
Bakau will serve their one year suspension following their misconduct during last year’s super nawettan quarter-final fixtures against Serrekunda East at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda.
