football serial champions the Super Falcons of Nigeria have arrived in Banjul
on board Air Peace for their much-anticipated fray with Gambia’s Senior Female
Scorpions on Wednesday.
The team arrived early Monday morning as they prepare to take on the female Scorpions for the first leg of the second and final round of qualifiers for a spot at the 2018 African Women Cup of Nations to be hosted by Ghana. The game will start at 4pm prompt at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
Gambia Football Federation (GFF) said entrance to the stadium will be free, saying that is targeted to encourage people to come out in numbers to cheer the team.
This is the first time the two sides are meeting at such level but the only difference is that Nigeria has more experienced players than The Gambia even when it comes to women football.
The Super Falcons had their first training session on Monday evening at the FIFA Goal Project. They are expected to have their final training today (Tuesday) at the Independence Stadium.
