Upper and Senior and Secondary School recently held its 18th graduation at a
colourful ceremony held at the grounds.
The school is a co-educational public institution established in 1970.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Badjie of the school management committee, thanked the parents for their support, while commending government for creating conducive environment for effective teaching and learning in the school.
He thanked the school management for their support towards the development of the school.
For his part, Modou Lamin Jarju, a representative of the ex- students association, on behalf of his mates, urged the graduating class to consider the graduation a stepping-stone to greater prospects.
He called on students not to relent on their laurels in achieving greater things in life, as their graduation is yet another major step in their life journey.
Jarju reminded the graduating class that life is a journey and it might not be as easy as they think, but they should keep on moving and never give up.
He urged them to make good decisions and believe in themselves.
Also speaking, Haddy Sosseh Saidy, principal of the school, revealed that the school over the years has witnessed numerous transformations, which includes the introduction of a senior secondary school.
The school, he went on, has a total of 1952 students out of which girls make up higher number in both categories.
She thanked the staffs that have continuously worked towards the progress of the school. However, she disclosed that in their pursuit of academic excellence, the school in the recent years is faced with challenges in different areas, such as water, electricity, furniture and many more.
She called for more support from government, individuals and NGOs, as she put it their doors are always open to anyone who wants to support education in the country.
The Ebunjang Theatre Group punctuated the graduation with theatre performances.
The students of Sukuta upper and senior secondary also entertained the invited guests with their amazing choreography dance .
