Sukuta-Medina Youths holds Massive sensitization of students on drugs abuses

Sukuta- Medina Youth’s Development Association under the Coordination of Mr. Muhammad F. Jabbi Headmaster of Brufut Upper and senior secondary school recently organised a daylong sensitization awareness on drugs abuses and other related drugs.

The forum that attracted sixty Youths of students, within Sukuta community was purely funded by One John Ackrill & Son Sam Ackrill of UK.-England .

 The forum was meant to create more awareness on the danger of drugs particularly the Marijuana which have a bad effect on the youths. The forum was also meant to discourage our youths on the back way syndrome which is very risk for their life.

It is against this background that Mr. Ackrill & Son Sam Ackrill of UK  deem it very fitting to sponsor at least a daylong forum for school children who are the most vulnerable in our society.The forum was aimed at providing students the opportunity to interact and share  with experience  teachers  or experts by providing them lecture on the bad effect  Associated with drugs abuses and other related matters, that are affecting our youth folks.

Speaking  Shortly after the  event , the National coordinator  of this activity , in The Gambia , Mr. Muhammed F. Jabbi , said  the Sukuta – Media Youths Development  Association  were delighted  to host this kind of awareness forum gear towards compliment government effort in curbing drugs peddlers in our society.

 He said the purpose of this seminar was mainly to sensitize the school children   to better understand the bad effect associated to drugs abuses and the risk of using back way syndrome. He lamented on the importance attach to this sensitization  of students on drugs , saying that surely at the end of the forum , the knowledge gain will be very useful  to them.

Therefore, Master Jabbi was quick to thanked Mr. John &Son Sam Ackrill of UK for their intervention in supporting this kind of awareness forum in the Gambia.

He described this sensitization as very timely and was a worthy course of which all the school children embraced. Mr. Jabbi went further to spoke extensively about the significance of this kind of forum, saying that last year (he ) Master . Jabbi and his team conducted a similar seminar on drugs abuses for various students and was very successful.

 He said the last year seminar has impacted positively to the life and mindset of the students as many were able to learned and know the bad effect of using drugs  in our society.

According to master Jabbi apart from supporting the sensitization forum, on drugs abuses, the donors are also into many other assistance within our communities.

He said Mr. John & Son Sam Ackrill have been with him at his school in Brufut upper and senior secondary school helping them in cleaning the school on daily basis. He commended John &Son Sam Ackrill  for their sacrifice and heart that they have for the children of the Gambia.

He added that john came to the Gambia on a holiday, but later decided to venture into voluntarism at his school for month.

Mr. Jabbi went further to commend them for their willingness in supporting his school and other vulnerable people in our society.

He also highlighted some of the development activities that Mr. John &and Son Sam have been embarking within our communities in the Gambia.

According to Master, the UK Volunteers Mr. John & Son Sam   has supported the youths of kunkujang Mariama  and  Siffoe with football and physical  cash to some schools to help them in their development initiatives .

According to Master, the UK Philanthropist Donor and his son SAM have the courage to support humanity in the Gambia as they also provided learning materials to some school children after making visits to many schools within Kombo North as well as provided support to some poor families  in Sukuta.

Mater Jabbi seized the opportunity on behalf of his school management, parents to thank Mr. John & Son Sam for their commitment and wiliness to support particularly his school.

We are delighted to have this kind of person who came all the way from UK to support the poor people of this country. He said this is great and is something that the Gambian cherishes .He said Mr. John contribution is no small measure and is gear toward compliment government effort.

For part, Mr. John Ackrill of UK, expressed delighted to come and support the Gambia children particularly to desist away from Backway to Europe and drugs abuses. He said it is part of his passion to support children in the area of education, and smile on the faces of  poor families. He therefore returned gratitude to Master Jabbi for opening his doors form him to support his school. Mr. John also spoke extensively about the good intention that he plans to do when he return back to his country and assure of coming bsck to support the people of the Gambia.
