Station Officer Bundung Police Station Testifies

ASP Dembo Jammeh, Station Officer Bundung Police Station, recently testified in the ongoing trial of four police officers alleged to have aided the escape of eleven detainees.

The suspects are Lamin Jammeh, Sisawo Badjie, Sheikh Sowe and Dawda Jallow.

Testifying, ASP Jammeh told the court that he is the Station Officer running the day to day affairs of Bundung Police Station. He said on 11th September 2008 he was at his house when the 1st accused, CPL Lamin Jammeh, notified him about the escape of detained prisoners. He went on to say that the next day when he reported to the station, he discovered that eleven detained prisoners escaped and when he enquired, the 1st accused explained the situation to him.
