Standard Chartered Gambia appoints Albert Saltson as CEO

Standard Chartered Bank Gambia announces the appointment of Albert Saltson as the Bank’s Chief Executive Officer for The Gambia, effective 1st June 2015.

Prior to joining, Albert was the Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank Sierra Leone where he was influential in driving overall performance in line with business strategy and governance. Furthermore, he demonstrated exceptional leadership and courage during the recent Ebola outbreak by taking an active role in the formation of the emergency private sector force on Ebola.Having joined as a management trainee, Albert has been with Standard Chartered Bank for over 25 years and has held several senior management positions including Head of Retail Banking in Zambia and in Ghana.In his new role, Albert will report to Anil Dua, CEO West Africa.

Commenting on the appointment, Anil says, “We are delighted to have Albert join us as the CEO having served on the Board of Standard Charted Gambia as a Non Executive Director for eight years.Albert is a well respected and highly regarded professional and I look forward to working with him to grow the business further in The Gambia.”

Albert holds a BA (Hons), Diploma in Management, MBA and Certificates in General Management from Oxford University and INSEAD
